Secondary Consultation
Secondary consultation services are available to health professionals seeking guidance in assisting and supporting a child/young person who has a neuropsychological condition. This may be appropriate for a child/young person who has had assessments through other services or for whom assessment is not appropriate for some reason.
We can work with principals, student welfare coordinators, curriculum co-ordinators, senior management staff, or individual teachers, to provide professional advice for your school community. We frequently consult with school staff regarding students that we work with and are always looking to provide the best quality advice to better progress their goals.
We can provide consultation for curriculum planning, how best to meet the needs of students with special needs, and can assist with the preparation of Individual Learning Plans (ILP).
We can attend care team meetings, staff meetings or planning days. After an initial on-site visit, phone consultations are also available if required.
Reflective Practice
We also offer neurodevelopmental and trauma informed reflective practice to families, foster carers, teachers, and case workers. Regular reflective practice sessions allows families, foster carers, teachers and case workers to more effectively identify and appropriately respond to challenging behaviours, whilst also allowing them to process their own thoughts and feelings, thus aiding self-care and personal development.
